Reading With Comprehension Class

Let us help your literacy learners soar higher and higher. The main purpose of our reading classes is to help your child enjoy the many benefits gained through reading. We want your child to have a variety of opportunities for reading with enjoyment, which will ultimately help your child’s reading with comprehension skills to improve. Kids need safe places and spaces to discover and read great books. Kids need to connect with other children to discuss them. We want kids to love reading and writing stories from their heart.

Reading is the gateway for children that makes all other learning possible.

Writing Workshop

Our writing workshops are classes designed to inspire to write daily and write with style. In order to write with style, one must find their own stories and voice. Our Creative Writing Classes for kids help to improve their writing by encouraging them to write about things that matter to them. Kids will explore different writing genres and use their ideas to create their own variety of stories, poems, and nonfiction work. Most importantly, the reading and writing connection will be explicitly taught.

You can’t be a writer without being a reader.

  • Kids who attend our classes will want to read more and enthusiastically select “just right” books to enjoy, independently.
  • Kids who attend our writing workshops will treasure their writers’ notebooks and begin to live like a writer.

Why Join Our Classes

CORE BELIEFS

We want kids to make reading and writing one of their favorite hobbies. Here are some core beliefs that fuel our purpose and drive our instructional practices.

❤️ We believe, to become an improved and good reader KIDS MUST READ. Kids will not read willingly unless they have a reason to read and that can be explicitly taught and caught.

❤️ We believe, to become an improved and good writer KIDS MUST WRITE. Kids who are encouraged to write, from their heart, uninhibited by writing rules will more willingly embrace writing.

❤️ We believe, once kids have their own interest in reading and writing (that develops into a hobby) they will want to grow as readers and writers and will willingly learn from adult role models who can help them improve and soar.

❤️ We believe adult role models who share their love and enthusiasm for reading and writing can greatly influence the reading and writing habits of kids. Our passion for reading and writing comes through in our enthusiastic Read Alouds with kids.

❤️ We believe adult role models must show kids how to be good readers and writers by leading Reading and Writerly Lives.

My advice to young writers is to read. Learn what other writers have done right and wrong. This will help you find your own voice. Also, SAY YES!
